Challenges
Our main challenge in this project was to create an information system that presented information in a user-friendly way and allowed the creation and modification of dashboards based on indicators calculated from various sources. We conducted a State of The Art analysis of different observatories worldwide to determine the most used technologies, standards, and practices, in order to select and incorporate the best ones. The resulting analysis also allowed us to identify opportunities for technological and methodological innovation for the observatory.

Results
The development of the Gender Observatory prototype has helped lay the foundations for a comprehensive system that connects different stakeholders, such as government institutions, researchers, and non-governmental organizations, with relevant data on gender equality in Saudi Arabia. The prototype is a strong starting point for the software, which, in turn, will facilitate informed decision-making based on concrete data. This offers an efficient tool to monitor and evaluate policies and programs related to gender equality in the country. The main beneficiaries are government institutions, the Public Administration Institute, and other organizations involved in advancing gender equality in Saudi Arabia.
